COTRUGLI – the leading business school in Southeastern Europe, in collaboration with partners, is bringing together the best companies in the region at the COTRUGLI EDIH Hackathon 2024, offering acceleration support services to the winning teams through the Cotrugli TECH MBA program, with a total value of 200,000 EUR. Following the success of this year’s AI hackathon in Croatia, which saw participation from 40 teams, the organizers have expanded the hackathon to the entire Southeastern European region. It now covers multiple business sectors, with over fifty top mentors from across the region already confirmed to participate.
The organizers invite companies to register their teams and allow them to collaborate in developing innovative solutions alongside other experts while learning from excellent mentors. They also invite partner companies to propose their own hackathon challenges, offering participating teams concrete problems to solve, with solutions that will have a positive impact on both business operations and society.
1. AI Travel Assistant
Intelligent Planning: Integration with calendars, suggesting optimal meeting times, managing responses.
Proactive Meeting Management: Recommending relevant documents, automating note-taking, and generating tasks.
Personalized Travel Planning: Integration with booking platforms, suggesting itineraries, and generating expense reports.
2. AI Assistant for Programming in the Google Ecosystem
The AI assistant must integrate with tools such as Google Cloud Platform, Android Studio, and Google Colab, providing support to developers in their programming tasks.
3. COTRUGLI EDU
An AI tool for managing, automating, and scheduling educational programs. The goal is to streamline participation in corporate academies and MBA programs, enable customized schedules, and track progress.
The COTRUGLI EDIH Hackathon 2024 is a platform for companies and entrepreneurs from Southeastern Europe who wish to innovate and develop sustainable business ideas using new technologies and social innovations.
Registrations open on August 1, 2024, and close on August 25, 2024.

Teams from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and China can apply for the hackathon.
Companies register their teams of experts with innovative ideas. Each team must consist of 2-3 members from the same company or organization.
Opening Event in Zagreb (COTRUGLI Business School) and online, where the goals of the hackathon and participants will be introduced: September 4, 2024.
Bootcamp – a three-day training available online, organized at locations in Zagreb, Rijeka, Varaždin, and Novska. The modules will include digital readiness, blockchain, IoT, and project pitching training. First half of September 2024.
Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with mentors. They will be able to select up to three experts in relevant fields for their project.
The deadline for project submissions is September 15, 2024.
Information about the finalists will be announced on September 19, 2024.
On September 20, 2024, the closing event will take place, where teams will present their projects and MVPs.
Projects will be evaluated based on feasibility, innovation, technical readiness, quality of presentation, and alignment with sustainable development goals.
The top 5 teams will be eligible for a two-year acceleration program through the COTRUGLI TECH MBA (valued at up to 40,000 EUR per team). The teams will be featured in the media and on social media platforms. They will also be provided with opportunities to collaborate with the COTRUGLI Business School and the hackathon’s partner companies.
